Diploma and recognition
What is the "blue diploma"? Do I get two diplomas?
No — it is not a second diploma.
The "blue diploma", properly the Diploma Supplement, is a document issued alongside your degree. It describes the level, content and length of your education in a standard format understood across Europe.
Three things worth knowing:
It does not replace the diploma; it is attached to it. The large majority of Turkish state and foundation universities following the Bologna process and YÖK standards issue one — so it is not an advantage particular to any single university. And on its own it does not create denklik: it is not automatic employment or an automatic master's place abroad.
If someone tells you a specific university gives you "a second European diploma", this is most likely what they mean. A genuine double degree is a joint programme run by two universities, and it is named on both universities' own pages.
